IBM Education has over 200 practitioners that contribute to the operation of a national education industry practice. Improving public schools around the world continues to be IBM’s top social priority. IBM’s efforts are focused on preparing the next generation of leaders and workers, as it also supports community priorities and concerns. Through Reinventing Education and other strategic efforts, IBM is solving education's toughest problems with solutions that draw on advanced information technologies and the best minds IBM can apply. IBM MentorPlace is a key component of IBM’s overall commitment to public education and raising student achievement. Through this volunteer program, thousands of IBM employees around the globe are providing students academic assistance and career counseling. In partnership with the United Way, the IBM KidSmart Early Learning Program is giving pre-K children attending United Way-funded centers across the U.S. and internationally a jumpstart on education and technology. The program also includes a Web site for parents and teachers, which provides guidance on early learning and technology. IBM’s programs are paving the way for reforms in school systems around the world. COGNOS was recently acquired by IBM and joins IBM Education as a partner on the DigitalBridge team.
